Movement is my passion
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy having graduated from California State University Sacramento. I am dedicated to helping others through movement and activity to live a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.
My passion for movement and health began when I discovered climbing in 2001. I have been a part of the climbing community for 20 years starting as a youth competitor making it to the national level in high school, to spending 12 years setting routes and more than a decade as a youth competitive climbing coach where I facilitated success for new athletes and national champions.
I discovered my calling to physical therapy after incurring some injuries that led to surgery and months of rehab with a physical therapist. I got to experience first hand the kind of impact a great physical therapist can have. I have since dedicated myself to helping others through an evidence based practice of physical therapy working with them to return to the activities that inspire them.
As a climbing coach I have learned to assess and articulate complex movement patterns for athletes of various abilities. Coaching has helped me as a PT by teaching me to listen and work closely with my athletes and clients to find their motivations and guide them towards their goals. I have learned that having short term and long term goals leads to more successful outcomes.
My training as a physical therapist alongside my experience as a high level coach has developed my ability work closely alongside my clients to develop focussed, collaborative, and effective treatment plans to get them back to their lives and achieving their goals.
From climbing the technical 14,000 foot peaks to exploring the river canyons below, and all the trails and routes in between, I am driven by the discoveries and complexities of moving in our environment. My goal as a physical therapist is to guide others to be able to move better in their chosen environment in a healthy and positive environment while having fun.
